HIGHLIGHTS
  • Nearly all (97%) Active Christians are registered voters.


  • Almost all (97%) Active Christian registered voters are planning to vote in the 2008 U.S. Presidential Election.


  • Three out of twenty (15%) Active Christian registered voters would vote for Barack Obama while about seven out of ten (71%) would vote for John McCain.

    • Healthcare (78%), economy (77%), and war (76%) are the top three issues for those who will vote for Obama

    • Abortion (73%), moral issues (70%) and terrorism (68%) top the issues for those who will vote for McCain.

  • Slightly more than half (53%) of the Active Christian registered voters who would vote for Barack Obama had a more favorable view of him after he chose Joe Biden as his running mate.

  • Top issue influencing Active Christian registered voters more favorable view of Obama after he chose Joe Biden is the war.

  • Nearly two-thirds (65%) of the Active Christian registered voters who would vote for John McCain had a more favorable view of him after he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate.

  • Top issue influencing Active Christian registered voters more favorable view of McCain after he chose Sarah Palin is abortion.

  • Approximately half (52%) of the Active Christian registered voters describe themselves as Evangelical.
